Mari Lwyd
The Mari Lwyd is a Welsh tradition which takes place during the festive period (typically at New Years). Essentially it is a horses skull on a pole, with a white sheet for a body - and decorated with ribbons, etc. It then goes from door to door singing songs in Welsh, doing a sort-of singing battle to gain entry and to drink all your beer!!
