Thank you! I printed it on resin 3d printer, sanded a little bit, then primed and painted. And glued googly eyes on top of course :) If you are curios, see more on it here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/176790489/The-Bird-Toy
ah rad, thanks for sharing this great process write-up! so cool to see them from all angles.
it's a really fun final piece and nicely captures the spirit of the animated creature! i've always been curious about resin printing. are you happy with the quality and outcome?
As for the printing. I got the cheapest and smallest printer from Elegoo on discount, and I am very happy with the quality. It prints surprisingly well. So yes, nowadays good resin prints are quite affordable.
The only problem is the process. The resin is very smelly and toxic, so better not to print in a living space. And prints have to be washed and additionally cured, which is also messy. Other than that I would recommend to try for yourself =)
wow, thanks for all of the details! the quality seems amazing for using a tiny cheap home printer. it sounds like a labor of love, but i think it's worth it ☺️ how long did the print itself take?
