Hi, thank you so much! These are from a project that I made in 2022, it was like a "style exercise". I made 100 of them using Blender (now I use Maya and ZBrush). They were made every 3 days so I had to figure out a fast and easy way, so I created a base body and then I just sculpted the faces/masks on that body. For the material and textures I made some procedural stuff using nodes. :)
really incredible! i do a lot of series-of-100 projects and i love the way i can feel my skills sharpening as i go. did you plan each character out or experiment and see what emerged each time?
are you familiar with the works of Frode Bolhuis? i really love his creations – he works with clay and mixed scrap materials, and i feel like his universe of humanoids and yours would get along ☺️ https://www.instagram.com/frodebolhuis/
Thanks! I never plan, I just create a "theme" and vision of the project (only for this one, my latest projects are more planned) and then I go straight into modeling and the character comes out by "itself". These kind of exercises are super useful for learning, I used this project to learn 3D for example. Oh yess, I know Frode Bolhuis, I started following him during this project and I love it.
Btw, here is my IG if you want to reach me out there and see my other stuff: https://www.instagram.com/anassenabil.art/
So I can support you aswell on Instagram :)

these are all really wild and fascinating – i love the range of texture and expression. what's your process like for making them?

In addition, the body had some joints for a slight pose, just to give more realism and differentiate one from the other.
