Josh Planz is a Brooklyn-based 3D artist and filmmaker whose work spans film, television, and independent media. With over a decade of experience in visual effects and animation, he has collaborated with studios including The Mill, Psyop, Hornet, and FuseFX, and currently serves as Head of 3D at HOPR Studios. His recent credits include Barbie and American Horror Story.
Josh has also taught 3D animation at the School of Visual Arts for over ten years, mentoring students from foundational coursework through senior thesis production.
He is currently producing Dark Empress, a surreal animated short exploring escapism and inner duality, and LNC Kids, a YouTube series that introduces the ABCs through playful 3D animation. He shares ongoing personal work on Instagram @joshplanz.
