Jurijs Tatarkins is a Latvian cartoonist born in Riga, where he currently lives and works. He studied printmaking at the Art Academy of Latvia.
His comics have appeared in Kuš!, Kuti, and Komikaze, among other publications. Recent work includes Unrest (Fieldmouse Press, 2025) and Welcome to Casa Baba (Kuš! Comics, 2024).
Since 2022, Tatarkins has co-organized Sābrs, a festival for zines and small publishers in Latvia. He has participated in residencies at Fiskars (Finland) and Prague, and leads workshops internationally.
