Kaori Mitsushima is an illustrator currently based in Prague, Czech Republic. Cats, birds, and women are the major source of inspiration for Kaori's artwork. Her simple but strong lines reflect a deep connection to Japan, the place where she grew up. She has lived in Tokyo, Berlin and New York City, working for a variety of international clients. Alongside her commissions, she created her own brand, called “Cats I Know,” which is a series of cat people that have been featured on prints, package design, a yearly calendar, and mural paintings. Her work and interviews have been featured by Urban Outfitters, Les Néréides Paris, and The Interactive Design Institute and numerous websites.
