Alan Dunne is an illustrator and author based in Ireland, working in painting, picture books, graphic printmaking, paper-craft, animation and motion graphics. He is passionate about all aspects of the graphic arts and is hugely interested in vernacular design and uncovering stories through cultural-historical archives. This is reflected in his heavily researched and considered comics, heritage-based commissions and through re-appropriation of vernacular graphics and typography in his practice. His illustration style is heavily rooted in solid composition and choice colour schemes. His characters display playful, elegant proportions with carefully researched details. He is an alumnus of the Artists Residency program at the Facebook Analog Lab, and Pictoplsma Academy 2019.
